Corteccia grigia, dapprima liscia poi con striature longitudinali. Foglie grandi pentalobate con margine seghettato, verde opaco, con pagina inferiore grigio-glauca e tomentosa; picciolo lungo, può essere rosso o rosato. Le foglie in autunno si colorano di giallo.
