Tollera la siccità e cresce bene in terreni drenati, anche poveri e sassosi, in posizione soleggiata, risultando ideale in giardini a basso fabbisogno idrico e di manutenzione. Col passare del tempo la pianta genera dalla base nuove piante, che andranno ad infoltire il cespo esistente, regalando ogni anno fioriture sempre più ricche.
